Horseback riding in the Crystal River Valley near Redstone, Colorado provides a unique Western experience for everyone. It is a great activity for families, first time riders, experienced riders and is a great way to experience the Rocky Mountains.

On horseback you are able to pick up your head and see the magnificent views, wildflowers, big blue sky and wildlife unique to Colorado.

Near Avalanche Ranch there are a number of Stables that our guests frequent. Listed on our “Activites” page are Redstone Stables/Avalanche Outfitters and Outwest Guides both located in the Crystal River Valley near Redstone.

Horse back riding the fall in the mountains of Colorado Out of Glenwood Springs there is Sunlight Stables that operates up 4 Mile Creek at the Sunlight Ski Resort.

Near Aspen, 45 minutes from Avalanche Ranch, the T Lazy 7 takes horseback rides near the Maroon Bells, an area of Colorado infamous for its spectacular views.

The rides vary in length from 1hour trail rides to overnight pack trips.

Trail rides cater to specific interests whether you hope to fish mountain lakes, view wildlife, see wildflowers or have a gourmet meal served on the trail.

Redstone Stables even offers the unique experience of an authentic Cattle Drive!

A typical rate sheet:
1-hour rides $50 per person (4 person minimum)
2-hour rides $85 per person (2 person minimum)
3-hour rides $125 per person (2 person minimum)

Half Day rides $175 per person (2 person minimum; lunch included)

Long day rides $250 per person (2 person minimum, lunch included)

Wilderness pack trips $325 per person per day (2 person minimum)

After riding having a campfire

Special overnight pack trip $450 per person (1 night stay in wilderness camp, 4 person minimum)
