Whitewater rafting is a popular activity among our guests. 3 different rivers flow near the Avalanche Ranch, offering prime whitewater and beautiful scenery.

Legendary to this area are the Shoshone Rapids on the Colorado River in the Glenwood Canyon, 35 minutes from Avalanche Ranch. The steep canyon walls offer a spectacular backdrop to the ultimate adventure on class III-IV rapids.

Two rafting companies based out of Glenwood Springs, Rock Gardens Rafting and Whitewater Rafting, LLC offer trips on the Crystal River, Roaring Fork River and Colorado River.

Rafting on the Crystal River Trips vary in length from 1 1/2 hours to a full day float.

Depending on whether you are looking for pure whitewater or a scenic float, there is a trip for everyone.

Rates range from $35/person-$75 depending on length of the trip and age of the participant.
